Does “Default Social Images” really work ?

When checking your website, I see the Open Graph image is set to https://after5.fr/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/AFTER-5-DUO-2-.png, so it works properly. Perhaps the tool on opengraph.xyz has problem detecting this. It’s not official tool from Google, so please use with care.

Anyway, you can view the page source code and look for “og:image” to see if the image is there.

I got it. When a single post or page (in this case, it’s the static homepage) doesn’t have a featured image, but its content has an image, the plugin will try to get the image from the content first, and set it as the social image. Only when the content has no images, it will get the default image.

=> To fix this issue, the easiest way is setting up the featured image for the static homepage. This way, you can control what image you want to show.
