The compatibility mode is good to have it just in case any third party plugin you use isn’t fully compatible with HPOS yet. Inserting the data into the database won’t take long, querying it is what’ll take longer so it’s good to have HPOS enabled for better speed, and compatibility enabled just in case any third party plugin needs it.
