I have found myself unable to complete Media Cleaner scans whenever a site becomes big enough that Media Cleaner must be left running for more than a day it can never finish the scan without receiving an invalid nonce error.

I tried fixing this by installing the Nonce Extender plugin and setting the nonce timeout to one week. This made no difference during my last attempt at all. Somehow I was still logged out of my site mid-scan and received invalid nonce error after re-authenticating. In the past I’ve remained logged in for days only to receive invalid nonce errors after 12-24 hours.

This leaves me wondering if Jetpack does anything which would override the new nonce setting created by the Nonce Extender plugin.

This is a serios error because I need to migrate some content to new sites but don’t have enough free space on my system unless I am able to delete all images left on the file system of the old site after the migration. To do that deletion I need Media Cleaner to keep running without receiving nonce errors.

    Hi there

There isn’t anything in Jetpack that would cause that, unless there’s a bug we’re not aware of. Have you tried temporarily deactivating Jetpack to see if the same issue still occurs?

Beyond the problem with the Media Cleaner, do you experience those session issues in general, getting logged out very quickly? Have you tried a plugin like Persistent Login?
