does not create new WP eMember user

Hi, I am using this plugin in conjunction with your WP eMember plugin. The 1.9.15 version of the plugin was working fine. Upgrade to 2.0.10 and it stopped creating a WP eMember user. Payments working fine, but no user created. Can you please help?
Side note: I tried downgrading the plugin but it mysteriously keeps upgrading itself.

One more piece of information–I checked the box to go back to the legacy API and it’s working now…
When you updated our plugin to the latest version the following message was displayed?
Click here to check whether your business needs to support Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). If it does, disable legacy API by unchecking the “Enable Legacy Checkout API” checkbox in the Advanced Settings tab of the plugin.
This new changes was introduced in version 2.0.1. Later on the message was added to help you.
