Does not record any activity
-
It’s a clean installation, a site I just created.
I installed the plugin, followed the initial step-by-step instructions, but it doesn’t record anything in the logs.
Only 1 administrator.I’m already familiar with the plugin, as I use it in several projects, everything I tried to change didn’t work, the logs aren’t recorded.

Hello @felipexa,
I’m sorry to hear about this issue—this is definitely unexpected.
To better assist you, could you confirm if you’re using the latest version of the plugin, 5.3.2? If not, I highly recommend updating to this version. For a completely clean installation, you may consider the following steps:
- Navigate to Settings → Advanced Settings in the plugin and enable the “Delete all data upon uninstall” option.
- Deactivate and remove the plugin from your WordPress site.
- Reinstall the latest version directly from the WordPress repository.
Once you’ve ensured you’re on the latest version, could you try performing some basic site activities—such as creating a new user, adding a post, or publishing a page—and let me know if the issue persists?
Looking forward to your update!
Best regards,
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I am using the latest version. I also did the procedure, without success, no logs are recorded.
In addition, I also deleted 1 entry from the wp_options table: “– wsal_restrict-plugin-settings”. The “– wsal_only-me-user-id” did not exist in the database.
Still, no logs are recorded.

### System Info → End ###Hello again, Felipe!
Thank you for providing all the details, especially the system information file—that’s been really helpful!
After reviewing the sys info file, I noticed a potential red flag at the bottom, which could give us some clues about what’s happening. Specifically, the following tables appear to have a size of 0.00MB, suggesting that they might not have been created properly during installation:
- Occurrences table rows: 0
- Occurrences table size: 0.00MB
- Meta table rows: 0
- Meta table size: 0.00MB
Normally, in my tests and previous experience, I know that the minimum table size should be around 0.05MB, so this looks unusual. Could you please check your newly deployed site’s database to confirm whether the WSAL_OCCURRENCES and WSAL_METADATA tables were created?
Since these tables are responsible for storing logs, their absence could explain the issue you’re experiencing. Given that you mentioned this is a freshly deployed site, it’s likely a permissions issue, or a misconfiguration on server level that prevented the plugin from creating the necessary tables during installation.
To further investigate:
- Try installing the plugin on a different site to see if the issue is isolated (which I am confident it is).
- If the problem is specific to this site you are currently testing, compare the server-level permissions and database privileges between the working and non-working sites.
Let me know what you find, as I am confident the above should pin point to the cause for sure!
Hello.
The “wsal_occurrences” table did not actually exist in the database.
I exported its structure from another installation that was working correctly, imported it into the database and cleared all of its contents.
From then on, the plugin started to record all occurrences normally.
Thank you very much for your help, it completely solved the problem.Glad to hear the good news, Felipe! That makes total sense now indeed!
It would do us a great favor if you can spare one minute to review our plugin and support here – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wp-security-audit-log/reviews/ . These reviews take a minute to share, but can really help us and the plugin to grow!
Have an amazing day ahead 🙂
