• This is a great concept but this plugin does not work. I’ve wasted a couple of hours trying to get it to work. It is very frustrating because I’m building a real estate website and this would be perfect for it.

I can see where this would be a great plugin once the problems are resolved. It could be that the instructions are incomplete and/or steps have been skipped assuming the user would just know what to do next. I’m fairly experienced and I could not figure out how to make this one work. I look forward to using this plugin once the bugs are fixed. I appreciate the developer’s hard work.

I would suggest the developer make a YouTube video showing how to use it. That would be extremely helpful for first-time users.

I wish you had asked before placing a negative rating. the video is already in place http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDkLs5lj9G4

I just watched the video (I searched YouTube for it before but did not realize this video was for WP Real Estate plugin – you might want to put the plugin name in the title). I just realized what the problem may be. Does this plugin have to be on the blog portion of a WordPress website or can be on any page? In other words, is it designed assuming the whole WordPress website is a blog?

it works anywhere inside wordpress. either a page or a blog post. 🙂

Just went back and reloaded it and tried it again. Still does not work. It puts the listings I create under a subdirectory it creates called “property” (i.e., wwww.mywebsite.com/property/listing) but when I click on “view property” I get a 404 page can’t be found. I’ve tried it several times and I used the procedure you use in your video. Any suggestions?

you need to select the property listing page from the plugin settings page. if that does not work, I will need the site admin access. You may send the admin details on our website plugin page.

    thanks

Do I need to create a property listings page or does it do it on it’s own? It created this one (property) on its own and it showed to be on it in the plugin settings page. If I need to create one exactly what does the page name have to be? (property? property listings? or what?)

you need to create a new page. name it anything you like.
then go to the plugin settings page. you will have to select that page as property listing page there. this defined in the video also.

    thanks

Ok. I’ll try it one more time. Ali I assure you I want this to work more than you do. It looks like a fantastic plugin. Maybe I’m missing something and I’m willing to go back and find it. But if I’m having trouble as a fairly experienced WP website developer and real estate broker I’m sure others may be having it too.

that is why I wanted you to send over the access (or at least the live url) so I could see what is wrong actually. I can help as per my experience and skills but without seeing something in real, I can only guess.

    thanks

Ok. Just tried again. It does not work correctly. When I click on view page on the listing page on the admin page where I created it says 404 page not found. When it does show a thumbnail of the listing it also shows every page of the my site and all meta tags and categories under it in a vertical column even though these items are not shown anywhere else on my website. Then when I click on see more on that thumbnail it goes to 404 page not found.

It is a great concept and I hope you get the bugs worked out or at least design it where the non-expert can use it.

    Best wishes

There is no bug. If there was a bug, I would have known it earlier already.

I can only help you further when I see the live site where you installed it.

    thanks

Note that your plugin overrides whatever page name that is created for the listings and is selected in your plugin settings as the location for the listings with the name/page of “property.” I’ve tried it several times and it changes it every time.

I.e., I create a page named “Property Listings” and then selected “Property Listings” in your settings. Then when I create a new listing “123 Main Street” it shows the new listings URL as http://www.mywebsite.com/property/123 main street instead of http://www.website.com/property-listings/123 main street.

Then I made a new page/subdirectory called “property” (mywebsite.com/property) to match what your plugin changes the new listings to and when I click on the page the listing does not show and when I insert the listing’s URL directly into the browser I get a 404 error.

Can’t spend anymore time on this. Either this plugin has bad bugs or its instructions need to be completely rewritten. But make no mistake about it, your plugin is automatically changing the name of the subdirectory created for the listings. I’ve checked that several times and it has changed it every single time.

Hope this helps. I would still love to use this plugin.

    Good luck.

If you understand the code, you may check it. the plugin does not create any page. that is why in the settings we have the option for you to select the property listing page.

regarding the not found error, there can be many reasons, one I would guess is you might have conflict with other plugins or probably you have other property plugins installed. Make sure other property plugins are deactivated.

further on this, I can’t help without the site information. So there is no point going back n forth on the same thing.

I would suggest you remove the plugin and look for other options then.

    Thank you

    Hi

I think I know what the problem is, in settings change the permalinks back to default i.e. ?page_id=24 format. It should work then, did for me.

I love this plugin by the way, there is room for improvement (always is) but is better than so many of the others and my niece who uses it to rent out houses loves it.

    Thanks hozyali good job.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

Thanks and I appreciate your ratings. Recently release of version 3.0 added a couple of new features and fixed a few bugs.

The permalink works but you just have to reset one time and return back to the one you want to use.

Let me know how it goes.

    thanks
