Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to report this! You’re right, plain permalinks weren’t supported.
We are going to ship a fix that handles both shapes correctly, so plain permalinks will work in the next release. Really appreciate the heads-up!
Lovely! Thank you! Just following up, Roberto has already created the patch, and it will be released in the next 0.8.3 version
https://github.com/WordPress/desktop-mode/pull/184
We have just released 0.8.3. Can you check if that’s still a problem and we can close this as solved?
Thank you 🙂
Wow, great!
I tested it and unfortunately it did not solve the issue. I assume it is because I installed WordPress in a subfolder. So the url will be mypage.com/wordpress/desktop-mode?target=%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-admin%2F, which does not work.
I tested it on another site, which is installed in the root directory. There it works fine.
Given the that it might be quite edge case, I’m closing this and setting this as solved. If somehow this is a blocker by someone else that has no the right knowledge to change the server settings, we’ll work on this 🙂
Again, thanks for the early feedback!
