• Hi,

I’m trying to add a Mailchimp subscription form to a WordPress PAGE.

I don’t know, why this is so difficult – Google tells a lot of the error, that I have, too:

    ——————————

    MailChimp
It seems the page you were looking for has disappeared

We’ve recorded this vanishing act and our team of chimp magicians will find the missing link.
    Return to the Dashboard
    ——————————

When I add – instead, not in addition to this page! – the form with a shortcode
    [mailchimpsf_form]
to the sidebar or footer as a widget, then it works – not matter if I use this plugin’s widget or just a text widget with the shortcode
    [mailchimpsf_form]

Only in PAGES the form leads to this 404 error.

How can I add the form to a page – I need more space for content and description concerning the newsletter?

    Thanks.

  • Hey Csign,

Thanks for posting! The shortcode should work on your WordPress page, and it’s definitely a bit strange that it’s returning a 404 message, since that indicates that the page is working along with the MailChimp plugin, but in a way where something’s going wrong at some point.

First, would you be able to provide me with a link to a live version of your page with the shortcode being used, and the 404 error occurring? If you’d prefer not do add this to your live page, would you be able to take a screenshot of the error message as it’s displaying on your page? If using a screenshot, you can post a link here or feel free to email me at mailchimptk[at]gmail.com. If you do, make sure to post here saying you did so, so I know to look out for it.

Also, are you able to try disconnecting the MailChimp account from the plugin settings, reconnecting, then trying again? If that doesn’t work, can you confirm whether any code changes have been made to the plugin itself? And also, can you confirm that you’re using the most up-to-date version of the signup form plugin? This will provide a better basis for testing.

Finally, if in reconnecting the account and also reinstalling the plugin you’re not seeing a different behavior, would you be able to post a link to your MailChimp-hosted sign up form here? This will allow me to identify your MailChimp account and take a look on my end a bit more thoroughly.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    -tk
