Please make sure you have enabled Lockout Invalid Usernames option as otherwise, login attempts for usernames that do not exist will not lock it down.

I just tested things again and found no issues. The updates that we made should not affect anything functionally as we just did a bit of cleaning up.
Maybe something else changed on your website? Can you try going back to version 1.8.1 (no setting have been changed so you won’t have to reconfigure anything) and see if it works?

Version 1.8.2 is not working in my particular installation
