Does the job!

Just tested it in 5.3 and works well overall in terms of getting rid of all of those pesky image sizes WordPress suddenly started generating with the update. Only thing missing is a way to disable the new “big size threshold” scaled image added in 5.3. You should consider making an update to add this to the list! I added disabling it in my functions file in the meantime.
