Just wondering if the plugin automatically defers the GA4 tracking script on the frontend? I’m trying to keep my DOM size small and site speed fast cz I hate heavy code. Wdyt, any extra steps needed?

Thanks for reaching out @mikala65. Good question too, and great that you’re looking to improve your sites performance. Site Kit places the Google Analytics snippet as recommended by the Google Anallytics team, using an async attribute for accuracy as opposed to defer. There are no customizations to switch from async to defer, but if this is important for you there are third party plugins that may suffice.

Note also that if you wish to place your own snippet, which uses defer, you can see keep the Google Analytics module connected within Site Kit, while toggling off the option for Site Kit to place the snippet.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
