I’m trying to figure out where the Mail delivery failed email messages are coming from.

Does the plugin use cgiemail?

Hope you are doing great. 🙂

I would like to update you that Email Subscribers use wp_mail to send emails. So, by default it sends email from the default email address according to your host/site.

However, if you use any SMTP plugin to send emails it will send it accordingly.

Thank you Aditya. So none of these were sent with your plugin, right, coz these email addresses are also not in my list, neither the domain that was ‘attacked’: chikungpalermX.com?

No other complains or questions about this as well, right?

Yes, we did not receive any complaints about these emails in the past and I have no clue about these emails. Also, Email Subscribers sends emails to only subscribers present in Email Subscribers -> Subscribers please do have a recheck there for these emails once.

OK, Aditya, good to hear. I can rule out this plugin and continue to figure out which script sends the mail.
