With GeoDirectory you can’t use a whole region as default location.
You can only define a city/region/country.
The multilocation however doesn’t work like GeoTheme, you don’t need to add all locations in advance. Whenever a user adds a new entry for a city that it’s not listed yet, the new location is automatically addeed.
You as admin have the option to merge (in case of dupes), edit, delete any new location created by users while adding new listings.
We are discussing adding an option for core plugin to allow users to disable the city level and work with region country, or disable city and regions and work with country only.
We are also considering adding extra validations to multilocation to allow the site admin to determin if he wants users to be able to add new listings for any location, or only location included in regions/ countries he definies.
The plugin is brand new and there are endless possibilities to imporove it and we are going to implemnt anything we think it’s necessary to make it stand out.
Hi paoltaia
Thanks for the reply.
I’ve been able to disable the distance restriction so it should work for what I need.
Does the events addon also have a distance restriction on it or will it list all events that gets posted?
thanks

Events works exactly like places, adding start & end date & time.
I’m almost positive that what you did for places will work for events too.
I’m marking this as solved.
Thanks
Hi Kevin,
How have you disable the distance restriction?
Thanks
Hi bclerigo
Sorry I can not remember now how I did it. It was not a simple operation as you needed to change quite a few lines in the main code.
I don’t use this plugin any more as I find geo-my-wp much more ‘wordpress friendly’ in the way it works with other plugins.
