does this plug-in support Auth and Capture
-
Hi, i need to implement a two-step payment in my e-commerce site. Stripe’s sales team suggested to look into third-party plug-ins. I’ve come across this one but i’d like to know if it will work with the auth and capture function? thanks

Hi mdadda,
My plugin supports both
1- Auth & Capture at same time
2- Authorize amount at time of customer paying and charge within 7 days from woocommerce shop order pageLet me know if you need further assistance
Thanks
Hi Nazrulhassanmca,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve read in some old posts that this function is available in a pro version of your plug-in. Is that right?
Thanks
MThat feature is available in free version also. You can test it out on your end as well
Hi @nazrulhassanmca! I’m trying to using your plugin and i think it’s great!
There’s only one thing I don’t understand! I’m tring to use the feature “Authorize amount at time of customer paying and charge within 7 days from woocommerce shop order page”.
If i look in my Stripe account and even in my order page (in woocommerce) I see the order has still to
be captured but if I check in my Credit Cart the amount has been charged!
Is this correct or there’s something wrong? I’m using a prepaid card, do you think this could be the reason? Thanks for your help
Cheers
NicolaNicola,
Authorize means not to deduct amount from your card It just puts a hold to funds on your cards which can be captured till 7 days in case of stripe
However if you do not capture the hold(authorized funds) they are returned back on card
The scenario you explained above is correct and my plugin has a checkbox in case of authorized transactions (woocommerce orders) to capture funds right from shop order page however other plugin use it differently they capture charge once you complete the order
But in case on my plugin you should be seeing an checkbox that has to be checked and save order botton clicked if charge capture suceeds on authorized amount order status changes to complete else it changes to failed
In case of authorized transaction ( Auth) you manually need to capture funds later however suppose your cards gets lost after being authorized you would be still able capture funds as they were put on hold for 7 day period
Let me know if you need further clarification
Don forget to rate my plugin
Thank you
Nazrul@nazrulhassanmca I paid for a Wix site assuming that my online store, using stripe, could perform an Auth and Capture. Stripe claims that it can, Wix doesn’t tell me a whole lot, and I’m a business owner and marketer not a developer or coder, so I’m out to sea.
Seems like this Woocommerce plug-in you created works seamlessly within a WordPress store, so I’m going to ask you: Can you help direct me through integrating a similar Stripe Auth and Capture within my current Wix store? Or is your knowledge base limited to the WordPress platform?
Thanks,
Corey@corey This is limited to wordpress only
Thanks
Nazrul@nazrulhassanmca I’m now working in wordpress, hoping that your plug-in will allow me to customize the checkout process to fit my business. Can you let me know if your plug-in is capable of the following?
We essentially rent high-end items (watch for example) to customers. They pay a small amount ($40) up-front for a rental period at which point they have two options, they chose to keep the watch and we charge their card the pre-authorized amount (remaining value of watch, ie: $360). Or, the customer returns the watch and our transaction has ended. What we need is a checkout option that allows us to charge the rental charge ($40) and then auth & capture the full amount of the item until it’s returned or purchased. Will your plugin support this, or do you have recommendations?
Yes you can do so
1- Set the plugin to create customer for each order in woocommerce -> settings -> checkout -> stripe card settings
2- Set the product price as $40 so you can immediately charge that amount
3- write down in description of product that if you dont return or want to purchase you will pay $360 extra
4- If customer agrees to buy go to stripe dashboard as there is an customer created for each order and you can charge the card the additional amount from stripe customer screen as customer created on stripe has card details attached while paying $40 first time and your plugin is set to create customer for each order that means it will create stripe customer for each order
Thanks
@nazrulhassanmca thank you, this is helpful.
However, I want to make sure I’m handling this correctly: On the ‘Checkout Options’ screen > ‘Checkout Process’ does ‘Enable guest checkout’ matter?
On the ‘Stripe Card Setting’ page, does the ‘Authorize Only’ button matter for my proposed structure, charge now, and the potential to charge later?
The ‘Accounts’ tab, does Customer Reg have anything to do with this?
Does all of this make sense, that we need to capture the up-front charge of $40, and then have the “business protection” to be able to capture the total cost of the item if not returned, or if the customer chooses to buy during their rental period?
Thank you for everything, sincerely.
Also, should I have the traditional WooCommerce plugins active along with your Addon?
I ask because I’m running into the following: If I have the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway set to “Active” I then lose all the custom options available through your Addon. But if I don’t have the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway active, you can’t checkout?
In total I have “WooCommerce,” WooCommerce Stripe Gateway,” and (your Addon) “Stripe WooCommerce Addon” as my plugin options. What should be active and/or deactivated?
Thank you.
@nazrulhassanmca would you be willing to jump in and help me set up my payment gateway? I would be more than happy to pay you a fee or make a donation to the plugin via this forum?
Please let me know, my inability to get this structured properly has been more than overwhelming.
WooCommerce Stripe Gateway is plugin is plugin of (woocommerce/wordpress) for credit card payment by Automattic
Stripe Payment Gateway WooCommerce Addon is plugin of (woocommerce/wordpress) for credit card payment by Me
Both are intended for same purpose so only one should be used the one by Automattic has more functionalities like subscriptions payments etc
Guest checkout means anyone can buy on your website without being registered as customer in terms of website
Authorize Only does not applies for your model as authorized charge can only be captured within 7 days of authorization
Customer registration also has nothing to do
But the Security deposit you say is $40 ( business protection) the item price should be $40 initially and a description in products description as addition $360 would be charged if you want to keep / buy after rental period
Note : Plugin has setting to create stripe customer for each order that means we are securely storing their payment source to charge in future mapping with order no
Happy to help feel free to ask any queries
regards
