  • Hey, thanks for reaching out, we understand this could be a touchy subject for you and we are more than glad to clear it up for you!

The thing is, those articles from around the web are carefully chosen and related to the topic you are currently writing in your editor. And they by no means automatically inserted in any of your blog posts!

But you can insert them manually, if you find them interesting. Also — by using them, you automatically enter our Recommendations Pool, which means that your blog is also eligible for other to use as related posts on their blogs. (We do check all blogs for spammy, NSFW or racist content, before letting them in). Some of them are promoted, but still very much relevant to the topic you are writing

You can remove that recommendations widget completely by un-ticking the box next to “Display widget with articles from around the web in your “Compose-new-post” page” in your plugin settings, if you scroll to the bottom of that page.

This way your Related Articles widget should be removed completely, but it also means that your blog won’t be recommended to others, since that option opts you out of our Recommendations Pool. In order to be linked to you also need to link out to other bloggers — not all of the time, but just when you find it necessary & interesting. We strongly believe our recommended content is relevant, thoroughly checked and of decent quality.

Let me know how this works for you or if you have any more questions what-so-ever, since I’ll be more than glad to help you out! Take care & have a nice rest of the day!

    Best,
    Silvo

Sorry for the typo over there! What I meant was: “And by no means are they inserted in any of your blog posts automatically!”

As mentioned before — do let me know if you have any questions, I’m here to help! Take care!

What if i have inserted some of these sponsored articles by mistake and i don’t know in which posts of mine i have inserted them? Will uninstalling the plugin and downloading it again remove any sponsored articles that were inserted by mistake? Or by simply un-ticking “Display widget with articles from around the web in your “Compose-new-post” will automatically remove the articles?

    Regards

Hey, glad for getting back to me, appreciate it!

Well, everything you add or edit in your compose-new-post editor can be removed or re-edited in the same way — via your editor. So if you added those promoted related articles in some of your posts, then you can remove them in the same way you added them — by un-selecting them via your recommendations widget (just below your editor).

Uninstalling or reinstalling the plugin won’t revert the changes already made within those posts that are already published. As well as un-ticking that option (“Display widget with articles from around the web in your “Compose-new-post”) in your plugin settings, it will only remove the widget in your compose-new-post page, while those related articles already added will remain where they are, since they were added manually (by the user) and not automatically.

Let me know if you have any more questions or if there’s anything else not completely clear, since I’ll be more than glad to help you out!

Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!

    Best,
    Silvo
