In a world of cookie-cutter iframe FB apps, this looks very interesting and powerful.

Unfortunately, I’m using the sample code provided & the fb_get_last_posts(10) call is returning an empty array ( ie vardump says array(0){} )

I know that FB changes things around quite frequently – but it’s only been 4 months since the last positive comment. I’m wondering if the problem is me or Facebook?

I registered an app at FB and entered my App ID & Secret.
Trying to access the graph URL from a browser gave me a JSONed OAuthException error… which makes me think Facebook has changed requirements on us.

I tried both the page name and the page ID (from http://findmyfbid.com/) in the page/group ID field… with no change in behaviour 🙁

Is this still running for anybody?

Hello, jonjennings.

Now took a look at some of the sites that this plugin was integrated into, and all of them seem to be working well.

How have you tried to access graph URL? Did you include an access token into your request? In order for plugin to work well, the provided App ID should have enough rights to read the content from your page/group. Also try to uncheck “posted only by original owner” if it is checked.

I did the access graph URL with the token and posts in the url:

I also received an empty array, but my server log showed that it was caused by lack of permissions to write the data file:

file_put_contents(/wp-content/plugins/fb-last-posts/data/a81e90b6edba54b74f65d04618a4058d.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied

Changing the directory permissions fixed this.

Now it would be preferred if the plugin would use a wp-transient to store the feed instead of a file on disk. @vitalikaz, is this something you might consider to change?

Another unrelated issue is that for the page feed i am pulling from, the ‘picture’ fields do not seem to be retrieved, although the posts i query do have pictures attached to them.
