Currently using the latest version of the JSON API by author dphiffer (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/json-api/); not Ryan McCue’s REST API plugin, which has been recently announced to be part of WP’s core as of ver 4.4.

My question is as follows: If I upgrade to latest version 4.4 that has Ryan McCue’s REST API and I have the JSON API by author dphiffer already installed, will this plugin turn off the core REST API that was recently added by WordPress? In other words, I wish to upgrade but do not want to use the new REST API within its core and want to continue using the JSON API by author dphiffer.

I ask because we have invested too much time and energy in modifications using the JSON API plugin and concerned that if we install your plugin that not only will shut off the REST API, but also the JSON API plugin.

Apologies that I never saw this post until now – not sure why not, since I’d assume that I should have received an email from the support forums?

To answer your question, my plugin disables the “Ryan McCue REST API” via four filters that exist with the intent of disabling the API’s functionality.

I took a quick look at dphiffer’s plugin and that code does NOT use the same filters, so I do not see any reason why there would be a conflict.
