Does updating a plugin erase php edits?

    If I went into my FTP manager and edited plugin php files, would these edits get erased by a plugin update?

    Yes. If you want to edit those files directly, I suggest changing the version number of the plugin (in the main plugin file) to 999 or something high – then you won’t get the prompt to update the plugin (you also won’t get plugin updates).
