Ive just removed a font from my website. I beleive ive gone through all of the css files and removed any referecnce to that font. I then cleared the server cache and cleared the Autoptimize cache.

But when i search the site files (eg. download a backup of the site and run a search across all of the files) I still see references to the fonts in the /wp-content/uploads/ao_ccss/ folder

I note that there are a few css files this folder and they seem to be managed by Autoptimize.

What i cant work out is, are these css files either a) unused previously minified versions of the css that Autoptimize has created and just not yet deleted OR b) something else ?

    Any ideas ?

Those contain the critical CSS for the rules on the critical CSS tab samwpwp, you can simply click the “remove all rules” button to ensure all critical CSS rules are removed. if however this doesn’t matter too much, you can keep those and they will automatically get updated over the next couple of hours/ days.

    hope this clarifies,
    frank
