Doesn’t allow passwords to work
-
WordPress 6.8.3 running Divi. PHP version 8.1.33. Not currently using a persistent object cache.
Active Plugins:
Divi Blog Extras (ver 2.7.0)
Divi Booster (ver 4.12.1)
Master Post Password (ver 1.4)
Rank Math SEO (ver 1.0.258)
W3 Total Cache (ver 2.8.14)Issue:
When I test, I am able to get in using either the Master Password or the Page password, on Chrome and Firefox and Edge. No issue.
One person is consistently having issues logging in on Firefox using both passwords, and Safari for one password.
One person reports it works for the 2026 password (the Master Password one set under the Reading section of WP, but not for the 2025 password (the post password) across their browsers.
On DuckDuckGo, I have this issue sometimes (though its not always consistent) and I notice it is loading me to a cache wp-content URL:
https://rhodora.org/wp-content/cache/page_enhanced/rhodora.org/members/jstor/_index_slash.html_gzip
Once I noticed that, I was able to go back, navigate to the page, and suddenly I was logged in – but that means it’s not just automatically redirecting me.
I’m going to try to confirm with the other two people testing with what URL they are seeing.
Any advice? Having the ability to set two passwords is really important to this organization and this is near the bounds of where I know to look to troubleshoot. They’ve had this same issue with other plugins too in an attempt to try to get this specific functionality (all old plugins disabled, removed, cache purged).
