Sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with setting up Site Kit from the Brave browser. This is related to the Brave browser blocking AMP by default, with AMP used in the Site Kit initial set up process. We have more details of this on the Site Kit plugin website.
Installed and setup with FF, we’ll see how it operates on a Brave browser after installation.
Once you have Site Kit set up from another browser, or with this particular Brave configuration changed, the plugin will remain connected, whether you’re using the Brave browser or not.
Let me know if all is working as expected at present, or ask if you have any questions. Note also that we are working on some changes to the plugin, which will allow users to proceed with initial setup, even if AMP URLs are blocked.
Hi @ffsitsme,
I’m just following up with you to check whether you’ve since been able to set up the plugin from another browser, or with the AMP configurations within Brave disabled?
Hi James.
As I noted above, I setup the plugin with Firefox. It works fine so far.
Glad to hear it @ffsitsme. As you’ve already set up Site Kit from Firefox, you should encounter no further AMP related issues, with AMP only used during initial plugin set up.
Note also that what you were facing with Brave isn’t a Site Kit fault, it’s more a default configuration within Brave that blocks AMP URLs. Based on your experience, along with others, we will be making some modifications to the plugin to ensure this no longer occurs.
Feel free to reach out if you have any other concerns or if you run into any issues.
