Dear @brittsi,
Do you have a caching plugin? It seems the V2 version have some issues with them.
So you see a blank grey area with an error message or nothing appears at all?
Yes that would be helpful to have access to your website, you can contact me privately at:
[email protected]
V2 had a lot of code rewritten, so some bugs have appeared.
If you really need it to work right now, you can download “WP Rollback” plugin to switch the plugin version 😉
Here is my answer to Britta by email, so everyone can see it:
After having access to Britta’s website, I can confirm the issue is the same as this one: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/issue-travelersmap-2-0-1-with-w3totalcache/
It is caused by an incompatibility with caching plugins and their “JS (JavaScript) aggregation” / “JS minify” / “JS Combine” (a lot of terms can be used).
I’ll try to update Travelers Map this week-end so it’s working again 🙂
In the meantime, you can disable the Javascript optimization inside your caching plugins settings (W3TC), just as Rob said at the end of this ticket : https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/issue-travelersmap-2-0-1-with-w3totalcache/#post-14925979
Have a nice day!
Just to add:
The same applies to Autoptimize. If JS-Optimization is disabled, the map is working again.
re. Autoptimize; adding plugins/travelers-map/ to the comma-separated JS optimization exclusion list will likely work as well.
Okay, V2.0.2 is online, please try it and tell me the results 🙂

Nice week-end everyone !

V2.0.3 is online, fixing a new issue 😉
Hi Camille,
thanks a lot for all your energy you put in this plugIn. It is getting better and better – really great! I’ve now tried several markers and it works well. One thing I didn’t find out how to do it, is to put in a thumbnail photo for each marker. It only shows the first one.
Another question: is there a way to switch off the link anchor?
Have a nice Sunday!
Britta
Dear Britta,
What do you mean by link anchor?
Are you talking about the popovers on marker’s click?
It is not possible, but I will add it in a next update. I think it should behave like posts with only one marker:
When using this_post=true in the shortcode, only markers with a custom field like an HTML anchor or a custom image should have a popover. THe popover should have a link only when an HTML anchor is set.
I’ve added this to the backlog, it’s a nice addition 🙂
Dear Camille,
that sounds good.
I am sorry, but there is another question coming up: I tried to fix the marker by entering the longitude and the latitude. But it didn’t work. So, maybe you could check that one as well?
Sorry for keeping you asking all those questions 😉
Best regards
Britta
Dear Britta,
Could you elaborate so I can understand the problem?
Did you have an error message? Was your marker saved or was it removed?
If you need more help, you could create me an editor account on your site and send me the credentials by email so I can have a look 🙂
