The shop page is not a post type page, but an archive page.
Can you please select the Products Archive in the content settings?

I also blocked the sample page just for the sake of comparison.
Surprisingly the /shop page is still visible while the sample page is correctly blocked:

https://amp.michaelmcdougald.com/sample-page/ – correctly blocked
Maybe there is something else I’m still missing?

We can see the issue when we visited the shop page.

We also checked the browser console using browser dev tools, but we did not find any errors related to Content Control.
The issue could probably on the restriction settings. Can you share a screen capture of your restriction settings? (General, Protection, and Content)
Have you also cleared the site caches after “updating” the restriction, and selecting the “save changes button”?

I can confirm changes were saved and caches are cleared.
I tested switching the restriction setting to “Redirect” and the good news is that worked perfectly. So the problem only persists when trying to use the custom message option.

We used the same setup as yours, and reproduced the issue when using a custom message as the protection.
We’ll ask our development team to have a look and get back to you.
In the meantime, can you create a restricted page, and set the protection to redirect? Kindly add the newly created restricted page.
