Doesn’t work on wordpress.com sites

I had an older version (2.3.58), when I moved my site to wordpress.com I lost the ability to edit existing galleries or create new ones. I reported this and was asked to install 2.5.44, which fixed the plugin being able to edit/create, but had the side effect of completely jacking up the gallery group displays on existing pages, and also broke how the galleries display when selected from a group. The settings seem appropriate (and if it worked in an older version, why no backwards compatibility?). Support asked me to keep 2.5.44 installed and give them access to investigate. My site was broken for a week while I waited. I gave up and put 2.3.58 back. What’s worse, inability to edit/create, or completely hosing my existing content? I’m still hopeful they’ll fix it but BEWARE if you’re on wordpress.com. When it works I love it, but right now I’m incredibly disappointed.
