• Hello!
I’m running into some trouble. My domain is registered by BluDomain but not hosted by them. My domain is set to expire in 13 days but bludomain keeps telling me that they are not the registrant. I have never moved my domain and when I look it up on WHOIS it does say bludomain owns it even though they refuse to admit it.

Looking them up online it seems this is a common problem for them so now I’m worried I will lose my domain and my site.

My site is a wordpress site with a ProPhoto 6 template. IF my domain goes dark can I still get into my wordpress site? Will I be able to change my domain name to something else so I still have a site and use the current wordpress site that I have or will I have to start from scratch?

I have contacted ICANN already but no response yet. I am getting nervous.

    Thanks for any help.

    Sally

  • Hello, Sally, & welcome. Actually, this is not a WordPress topic. WordPress is just the software used to build websites, & this forum is used to help folks solve problems related to the software.

Having said that, I looked at the WhoIs entry for your domain & it indicates that your domain registrar is Wild West domains:
    http://www.wildwestdomains.com

    We hope that helps.

They are not the registrar. The registrar is: http://www.wildwestdomains.com.

You may have opted for domain privacy, so it says that BluDomain is the owner. You should be able to renew your registration from the link I provided.

Hi! I have already contacted wild west and they said it is bludomain that registers it and for the past 6 years bludomain has been the one billing me for this.

also, my question is whether or not i lose my wordpress if for some reason i lose my domain name…will i have to start my wordpress all over again as i build my site with another name? (if i can’t get this rectified soon enough?)

Sally, please back up your site, both the files & the database. That will save your content if this doesn’t resolve.
