Domain mapping on

    Hi
    I’d like to purchase a new domain name and point it at a sub folder of my wordpress Multi user network
    http://brightmist.co.uk/exampe/

    Is this easily possible?
    I’d like to to appear as if all my pages are hosted at the new domain even though they are still at the same hosting

    Will this affect my SEO it being on the same ip? I already have sub folder sites

    Do I hav to use a domain mapping tool or can I just change the name in my admin settings?

    You can do this with a plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

    Don’t just change the name, it has issues.

    And no, it won’t hurt your SEO. If it did, everyone on shared hosting (which uses one IP for a bajillion domains) would be angor 🙂

    Yeh I’ve already got that plugin
    I’ve bought my domain now and am getting my host to set it up

    Had some trouble understanding how subdirectories would work and how to create A Records but my host is very good at sorting it out for me

    Just wondering what do you mean by just don’t change the name? Name of what?
