• I’m bewildered by this new “update”. A complete regression from previous versions of what used to be my go-to backup plugin. The UI is an absolute eyesore (why do plugins insist on inserting their own custom fonts on their configuration pages?) and all previous custom configuration capabilities have essentially been disabled and greyed out.

I can only assume the plugin was acquired by another company, thus requiring them to push their “Premium” version to squeeze more dollars out of it, fine – but the problem is that even the Premium version doesn’t offer the level of functionality that used to be available for free.

Until they address these concerns and bring back functionality that was offered in previous versions, don’t waste your time with this plugin.

    Hi @patmonette ,

We’re sorry to hear that the latest update has been disappointing for you. Our primary goal was to provide a more simplified experience, however we understand that more functionality is needed which we are working on improving. Your feedback on the UI changes and configuration limitations is truly appreciated, and we understand how frustrating this must be.

Our goal was and will always remain into providing a reliable and powerful backup solution. We acknowledge that some changes have impacted usability as well, and we’re actively working to address concerns based on user feedback.

If you’d prefer to continue using the previous version while we improve the current one, you can roll back to version 4.1.7 here.

We truly appreciate your patience and input as we work to restore and enhance functionality. Your insights help us create a better experience, and we hope to regain your trust.

    Kind regards,
    The BackWPup Team”

@backwpup Thank you for your reply – however, the new version has a long way to go before it can become useable again, so I have moved on to another solution for now.
