Double check .htaccess file?

    I frequently move sites around using the Duplicator plugin, which recreates the .htaccess file whenever I install a site on a new server. The All in One plugin doesn’t seem to recognise that the .htaccess file has changed when I do this and reports that all my security changes are intact when they aren’t.

    It’s a simple matter to disable everything and start again, which fixes the .htaccess file, but if someone who encounters the same problem doesn’t know about this they might end up with an insecure site.

    Hi Sriom thank you for reporting this. Can you elaborate a bit more in regards to your comment….

    When I duplicate a site via the Duplicator plugin the .htaccess file is reset to the basic requirements for WordPress. If I then look at the AIOWPS dashboard for new the site, it looks as though all my settings have been preserved, but the .htaccess file doesn’t contain any of the AIOWPS code.

    One easy way to replenish the .htaccess file content after you duplicate a site’s settings is to deactivate the AIOWPS plugin and then re-activate it again.
    By doing this the plugin will then detect that you had some firewall rules active and it will ask you if you want to write to the .htaccess file just after plugin activation. You should click the “Yes” button.

    Just tried the deactivation/activation solution and some settings are retained but most aren’t. A better way is to export/import the settings.

    I just noticed the ‘re-insert the security rules’ option on reactivation. My bad, sorry.
