can you please go to Mailchimp for WP > Other and set it to “log everything”, then submit the form with a new / fresh email and see if there is any indication in the log that the subscription went through at all?
Does the email show up as subscribed in Mailchimp or it’s not there?

Hi,
I just tried registering a completely new contact: everything works and the double opt-in confirmation email also arrives.
This is the content of the log in case of entering a new contact:
[2021-01-21 14:37:28] INFO: Form 8998> Successfully subscribed alessandra.filippetti+18@gm***.com
The problem is that, in the case of a contact already existing in the Mailchimp audience, this is updated directly, without double opt-in and without confirmation email.
This is the content of the log if the contact is updated:
[2021-01-21 14:42:50] INFO: Form 8998> Successfully updated alessandra.filippetti+18@gm***.com

I regret to say this is not possible from within our plugin. This is how it’s set up in MailChimp.com. There might be some other automation possible in MailChimp to send emails when user details are updated, but I would recommend contacting their support for more detail.
