• Hi there,

since the last update the plugin automatically confirm the double opt-in if an admin approve the comment.

There is no matter if the user received and confirmed the opt-in email or not.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers, Jax

    Hi @jax355

Yes, pending subscriptions are being activated on comment approval, but it’s always been like that.

The “double check” is mainly to avoid email addresses from spam comments being subscribed. So when a comments gets approved it means it’s not spam and the subscription gets activated.

But we might change the behavior in the next update.

The “double check” is mainly to avoid email addresses from spam comments being subscribed.

in europe, this function is important to comply with the data protection regulation. activation by admins is not legally compliant. the user must confirm his e-mail, as only this is valid as consent. it would be nice if this were taken into account.

100 percent agree with that! This should be changed in upcoming update urgently.
