• Check the forum and there seems to be a number of us having problems saving a new theme download to WP-content based on WP instructions.

If you found a successful way of doing this on a Mac (0x 10.5) I would GREATLY appreciate your input and instructions as to how you succeeded.

    Thanks!

I’ve been a Mac user for over 20 years and never had a problem installing any themes on any of my WordPress blog.

Which method are you using? Are you installing directly from the Install Themes tab? Are you uploading the theme from the Install Themes tab, or are you manually uploading the theme via FTP or SFTP?

Installing directly from the install themes tab. Choose the theme then go to my downloads. There of course it is found whether as a folder or a Zip. From there I have not been able to find a way to add it to wp-content as per the instructions.

Appreciate your reply and willingness to help!

You’ll need the .zip file. Where that is depends on what browser you’re using and how it’s configured. If you’re using Safari, the theme will automatically unzip in the Downloads folder and the .zip file will be moved to the Trash. Rescue the .zip, then go to the Install Themes tab in your admin panel and click the “Upload” link. All you need to do after this is select the .zip file and complete the installation.
