    Hi,

I built a shop with the recent woocommerce version, but my theme is not compatible with it. The author told me that I have to downgrade woocommerce to version 2.6. Are there going to be any issues with the variable products that I have created in the newer version? What about the settings that I have made?

Hope to get a response. Thank you.

    Regards,
    BM

  • If you have a 2.6 backup you can revert to that. You will lose anything that you have done since the backup.

Its not easy downgrading 3.0 to 2.6, its not just the changing files, there are database changes as well and I’ve not seen any guidance about how to revert those.

I think the question should be, when is your theme author going to update the theme? WC 3 has been around for plenty of time for developers to bring out updates, and other themes have been updated. If the developer has abandoned the theme and is not going to update it, you don’t want to be trapped in the past, so consider looking for another theme. One that’s popular and updated regularly. There are several good WooCommerce-compatible themes around.

    Thanks a lot!

My theme author is going to release an update within 2 months… it is quite late but I think I need to wait for that.

“2 months” sounds like “sometime/never”. Presumably you have a non-working site at the moment. While you’re waiting, checkout some other themes.
