Hi all weird thing I have noticed

when i download the backup file the backup speed sits at around 10mb a second until it gets the 2 thirds of the full backup size then it seems to finish very fast. when i check the size of the completed file its correct.

    1. is that normal
    2. I would like to test that these files are okay how would I test the restore. should I use that file on my staging site to see if it works?

It’s not uncommon for the download speed to fluctuate, but it’s always a good idea to verify the integrity of your backup files. Here are a couple of ways you can test the backup:

    1. You can import the backup file to a staging site to ensure that it restores correctly. This is a reliable way to check if everything is in order.

    2. Another option is to use Traktor, an online tool, to verify your backup file. Simply drag and drop your .wpress file into Traktor: https://traktor.servmask.com/ If the tool lists the contents of the backup, it means your file has been downloaded correctly.

I ran the tool and it shows a lovely structure of all my files

thank you so much should I then leave the restore onto the staging site

Yes, all the tools are created and managed by us (ServMask, Inc).
If you see the list of files, you are good to go.
