Here’s a link to a short screen cast I made showing the issue.

Before posting this, I went to a regular wordpress post and was able to save a draft (and it stayed in draft mode each time I clicked the save draft button)
@mdc257,
This is a bug in the core codebase, you can see the original bug report and track progress on a resolution here: https://github.com/gocodebox/lifterlms/issues/380
Yes, when you save a draft it should not publish it. You’re 200% correct. I’m sorry for the bug…
In the meantime the best workaround I can provide would be to let your course stay as “published” but mark it as hidden: https://lifterlms.com/docs/course-membership-visibility-settings/
This will ensure students can’t find it similarly to a draft.
Again, I’m sorry for the bug and thanks for your patience.
Ah ok, so you’re already aware of it.
As far as the workaround, I can see that it would work. The reason I liked Draft status is because when I’m ready, I can use the bulk actions edit in WordPress to change all courses to Published simultaneously. Unfortunately, you cannot change visibility in the same manner. So I have to go into each one and change it.
@mdc2957,
I know… It’s a bug. I will fix it if you see my backlog there’s somewhere around 80+ recorded issues right now. This ones low priority… I’m really sorry. Every bug is straight up unacceptable but I also need to sleep and I just don’t have enough time.
Please forgive me…
Whoa take it easy man, I was just letting you know about the bug. And that the current workaround isn’t ideal. I wasn’t demanding it be fixed instantly. You guys are doing a great job on Lifter!
@mdc2957,
Yea, I got defensive. Sorry about that…
In any event I felt so guilty about the bug and then about being defensive about the bug that I did a bug sweep yesterday and fixed this in 3.17.3
Hope that’s an acceptable amends and let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
I confirm that the bug is now fixed in the latest version. Will certainly make things easier. You’re awesome, keep up the great work!
