Draft posts showing up in public post menu

When I create a draft post, the title shows up on the post menu on the public page, even though it is still in draft/unpublished. It only shows up on the sidebar menu, not in the post feed. It shows up whether I am logged in or not, so it isn’t an admin preview. The only way I’ve gotten it to disappear is to delete the post entirely. What can I do?
