Drafts are disappearing

I just moved my blog from a wordpress.com address to my own website. Now when I write a Quick Draft and save it, it disappears. Not saved. No way to publish it.

I’m also being told that people can’t log in to post comments on blogs already posted.

I’m beginning to believe that maybe I need to set up a couple directories — I know when I play Nethack without Save and Trouble directories installed things crash. Is this what is happening? If so, what directories do I need to create (and why wasn’t that done by the installation process)? If not… ????? What do I do now.
