Note, although it’s documented, this isn’t an official feature of the plugin. Usually, it seems when people ask for this, it seems they are maybe not using the correct solution for the problem they are trying to solve.

If you want a standard footer menu (like you see on dropbox.com), it would be better to add multiple custom menu widgets to your footer.
