Hi David,
A specific UpdraftPlus install will only query your Dropbox for the existence of other backups if you click on the “Rescan remote storage” link in the “Restore” tab. Otherwise, it’ll not know they’re there – but that links is there if you want it to know.
Also, when you restore, UpdraftPlus will 1) show you the URL of the site that you’re restoring and 2) advise you if it is a backup from a different site – so it ought only to be possible to restore from the wrong site if you click through those messages; I guess you just didn’t see them somehow?
Best wishes,
David
Hey David,
Yikes. You know what, you must be right. I remember seeing a dialog box with a message about a premium feature for migrating to a different URL. In my haste, I just thought it was an upsell message.
Sounds like the mistake was on my end. Thanks for the quick response!
David

Hi,
After reading this and seeing all my backups in the same dropbox folder, maybe before it backups it can ask you what folder to put it in.
Of course before the backup was performed it asks you what folder would you like to back it up to and name it after your site.
This way all backups are separated into individual folders inside updraft.
Then when you need to restore it asks what folder to restore from. That way no mixups.
Thanks
Hi Tippy,
Thanks for the feedback. Using sub-folders in Dropbox is a feature of UpdraftPlus Premium – https://updraftplus.com/shop/updraftplus-premium/
Best wishes,
David
