Dropbox changed their system. You now need the latest version of BackWPup installed, and you’ll need to reauthenticate with Dropbox in the backup job settings.
@mindctrl: Thanks for the answer.
@mindctrl: Thanks for answer
ok, and what about the issue still being there after updating and reauthenticating?
EDIT:
Nvm… my fault on that one, sorted.
???
same problem there
when i try to reauthenticate in backwpup, i still got the message :
Dropbox API: (35) error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure
help, please 😉
After my wordpress was updated to 4.0, I had the same problem. (alert handshake failure)
My BackWPup version was 3.1.2
I updated this version to 3.1.4 and it looked like the problem was solved.
It was not, there was an error “access token not found”
What i did: First, login to http://www.dropbox.com
and also
login to your wordpress admin area.
BackupWP, Jobs, Edit
Goto tab “To: Dropbox”
Delete Dropbox Authentication
then
press button “Get Dropbox App auth code” or press the “full dropbox auth code” whatever your pre is. (The first is good enough)
This opens the browser which asks you “BackWPupApp would like access to its own folder, enz. Click “Allow”
The accesscode is generated.
Copy the code and paste it in your wordpress “App Access to Dropbox”-box. (or the other, whatever your first choice was)
Save it. Test it via “Run now”. It worked for me;-)

I can’t even seem to re-authenticate Dropbox? Whenever I click one of the ‘Reauthenticate’ buttons I just get the following error above them
Dropbox API: (35) error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure
Any ideas?
I have successfully upgraded and re-authenticated on a couple of websites now.
The backup process says it was successful……BUT….. no sign of the backups in Dropbox itself???

Ian
@rjthebest – thank you so much, worked perfectly!
@iansss – following these instructions, Dropbox created a new folder for my backups – so I must have done it differently, last time. But new folder is root of dropbox / Apps / BackWPup / then the backup job name – thought at first that mine were missing too, but they were merely ‘misplaced’ – LOL
Aha!!!
Quite right Cherior.
Though you did not do it differently, the revamped upgrade for the Plugin chose a totally new route for us.
Well spotted!!!
Ian
