Dropdown Menus in v3.3.1

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me if I need a plugin to make a dropdown menu in WordPress v3.3.1? I’m new to WordPress and I thought that dropdown menus were built in to v3.3.1, but maybe I was mistaken.

    Dropdown menus are theme specific. Twenty Eleven, for example, has a dropdown top menu.

    Hi esmi,

    Yes, I guess that’s why I thought they were built in to WordPress. I’m working with a different theme that apparently doesn’t have them because when I create a custom menu for my main navigation and make some pages a child of others, they all show on the same line.

    Is there a specific plugin that’s better than others, or do I have to manually create the dropdown menu?

    I think there are some dropdown plugins around but I have no ideas how well (or even if) they work in 3.3.1. This is really best handled via the theme’s CSS.
