I have a lot of sub-categories as you can see. Can I create a dropdown menu??

Do you mean a dropdown in the “Advert Categories” widget? If so then i am afraid that right now this widget can only display a list of links.

Is it possible to display the widget in image grid format instead of lists?

Not yet, but i created an issue on GitHub for next WPAdverts release https://github.com/simpliko/wpadverts/issues/57

This means that with the next release which i am planning for this week there should be an option to show the image in the widget.
