dropdowns – top-level doesn't need a page

I have a lot of dropdowns on this site I’m putting together, the top level doesn’t even need a page, it’s really all about the dropdown choices.

How can I go about removing the top level link and still keep the dropdowns beneath it?

If this isn’t an option, would there be a plugin where at the very least, I could redirect a click from the top level page to the first choice in the dropdowns?

I use Artisteer, by the way, so don’t know much about getting under the hood, but willing to do what it takes.
