All my plugins and WP are current. I use WPForms Lite and have searched dozens of help pages but none of the topics address my issue. I created a custom Comment form and inserted it on a few pages of my site. It looks fine, but the problem is that a duplicate yet standard Comment form shows up right below it and is somehow connected to it in the code. In other words, if I delete one, the other one disappears. This happens in 3 browsers I tried: Firefox (Windows X), Safari and DuckDuckGo (iPhone 14). I appreciate any help or suggestions.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @ldevore849,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand you’re seeing a duplicate standard WordPress comment form appearing right below your custom WPForms form, and I’d be happy to help you get that sorted out.

This behavior occurs because WordPress is designed to automatically display its native comment section on pages and posts. Since you’ve inserted your own custom form, you’ll simply need to disable the default WordPress comment settings to remove the duplicate.

You can easily remove the standard WordPress Comments form by following the steps in this WPBeginner guide: How to Completely Disable Comments in WordPress.

    Disabling Comments for New Posts

To ensure the standard form doesn’t appear on any future articles:

    1. Log into your WordPress dashboard and go to Settings » Discussion.
    2. Uncheck the option that says Allow people to post comments on new articles.
    3. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Removing the Form from Existing Pages

For this, you can follow the steps in the sections below:

Once these settings are adjusted, your custom WPForms form should be the only one visible on the page.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi @ldevore849,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
