Thank you for reaching out Yoast support.
I checked the page source of the sample page and do see the double occurrence of the meta description which is unexpected. This means either your theme or another plugin is showing another meta description for the page.
Perform a conflict check.
To find out which theme/plugin is causing this anomaly, we recommend performing a conflict check. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all plugins except Yoast SEO and switch to a standard theme like Twenty-Twenty. Then check the source code to confirm whether the meta description tags are occurring twice or not. Does the issue occur? If not, reactivate your other plugins one at a time and see if the issue occurs again for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, switch back to your current theme.
Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts
