Duplicate error message

When an unregistered user opens any page with the ability to comment, the message “You must be logged in to post a comment.” is displayed twice – once above the “Profile” tab border and again just below that within the body of the comment box. See example here:

I have modified the formatting of most of the components to better integrate with my site’s theme, but I can’t find a way (or where) to modify the formatting of the top error message or to eliminate either.
Can anyone help? Thank you!
