Yes! I got a reply this morning:
This is happening as a result of the Copy Content Setting. Specifically, this setting will create a WordPress readable version of the page builder post so plugins like Yoast can understand it. To do this it’ll update the post text by saving it again (refernece) this so it’s quite possible for it to trigger another save.
The only way to really avoid this issue (as the Copy Content setting is too important) is for Better Notification for WordPress to only email about a single page update when SiteOrigin Page Builder is used on that page.
Do you know how to fix this? : )
Hi,
Alex from SiteOrigin.
Just to clarify, by too important I didn’t mean that we wouldn’t make changes because what we do is too important or we were unwilling. I’m sorry if it came off that way Instead, I had meant that the functionality is too important to remove an/disable and I didn’t mention that we needed to save it in this manner for, well, ironically we save it like this for general compatibility.
Hi @alexgso,
Thanks for chiming in too.
So that I can look to implement a fix for this, can you tell me how quickly SiteOrigin saves the post/page twice? Is it literally one hook firing after another or is there any kind of a delay between the two, such as one waiting for the other to complete?
Thanks,
Jack
Hi,
There’s a small delay while the page is processing but the save occurs during the same page view. For reference, here’s the section where we save again.
Thanks @alexgso,
I’ll take a look.
Jack
Hey @voltronik and @alexgso!
Any updates on the solution?
Thanks!
Hi @mriostamez,
Not currently. It’s on my list of things to look at in February at the moment.
I’ll updated this thread when I have more.
Thanks,
Jack
Thank you Jack!
I appreciate your help.
Hello Jack, just a reminder if you have any updates on the issue.
Thank you so much for your help!
Hi @mriostamez,
It’s still on my list but it’s been pushed back to March because of another necessary update.
Hoping I can still provide a fix but can’t guarantee anything until i’ve had a chance to look into it.
Stay tuned!
Thank you, I appreciate it.
