Hi, we are having this strange problem with Memphis Documents Library plugin (latest version). Every time a file is uploaded into WordPress it generates two post pages. First being the actual document post page along with a duplicate page (-2 url) that contains file link plus [mdocs_media_attachment] short code. This duplicate shows in WordPress search results and we always have to clean them away manually. What could cause this? I’ve been able to replicate the problem with a clean WordPress installation so it’s not related to the current site setup.

the second is a media file created when a file is uploaded to mdocs, this is a normal process mDocs uses to upload files into the system.

If you goto mdocs>options>settings Hide Things >Show Memphis Files in Media Menu and check that you will see all the mdocs media files in the Media Dashboard.

Normally media does not show up on WP searches do you have a search plugin that allows the searching of media files?

Yes, we’ve been using Relevanssi or Better Search plugin to get MDocs post pages indexed into search results. Is this causing the problem?

that would catch all media files so that is where the issue lies. Can those plugin be configured to ignore certain media files?

Relevanssi plugin will exclude attachment post types from search results if needed. It would be nice to be able to exclude only MDocs attachment posts though.

currently there is no way to filter just mdocs media, I have looked into many other options for uploading media but so far the pros out way the negatives at this point.
