    Hi,

We tried using your plugin to use custom Permastructure and translate slugs from EN to FR, for example :

    EN: /car/XXX
    FR: /voiture/XXX

We are using WPML for translations and ACF for custom posts.

We encountered a big issue, and we had to clean everything, disable all Permalink Manager Lite settings, and deactivate the plugin. Now the problem is solved, but we can’t use custom permastructure anymore.

    Here what happened:

When creating a custom post and translate it, it makes duplicates entries with the same URL but a different ID. Sometimes by adding only one custom post, we had 1 FR and 3 EN versions.

That was very problematic because those duplicate entries are displayed in the search results, and it clutters up the database.

We knew there was an issue because the number of “Total post” was different than “FR posts” + “EN posts”. For example, WordPress said we had 70 cars but in fact, there were only 25 cars in FR language and 25 cars in EN language. Total should be 50.

We would enjoy finding a solution for it as we really want to use custom Permastructure…

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Kind regards,
    Antoine

    Hi Antoine,

That is really strange because my plugin does not contain any function that would be able to create a new post.

Nevertheless, whatever it caused – my plugin should not set-up custom permalinks for duplicated posts.

Are the posts duplicated only when my plugin is activated? Could you send me a list of all active plugins to my email: contact /at/ maciejbis.net?

    I apologize for the inconvenience!

    Best regards,
    Maciej

    Hi Maciej,

    Thank you for your reply.

I think it is a multi-level issue and WPML is also playing a part here.

We made several tests, and the issue is only appearing when a custom Permastructure is set. When restoring all settings, everything is going normal.

Those duplicate posts are not visible in the WordPress back office, and we have to go in your URL Editor to find them and delete them.

I sent you the list of plugins used.

    Kind regards,
    Antoine

    To whom it may concern:

With a help from Antoine, I managed to localize the issue.

The problem occurred when WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor is used. The hotfix will be added to the next version of plugin after additional tests are made.

    Best regards,
    Maciej
