I’ve enabled skiplinks, added the content id, and added some custom CSS styles in the Styles input field. When I test it out by hitting tab, a “Skip to Content” button appears with the custom styles. However, if I hit tab again, a second “Skip to content” (lowercase “c”) appears with the default styling.

How do I remove this second instance?

This almost certainly means that you have two Skip to Content links: one from WP Accessibility and one from your theme. If the theme link works, you should disable the one from WP Accessibility.

Thanks—there does appear to be one generated by the theme, though your plugin’s version functions better.
