The Yoast SEO adds the rel="next" and rel="prev" for the paginated archives. Please, refer to this guide to learn more about this.
the guide can not give assistance, i just want to add <link rel=”canonical” href=”http://www.***.com/” /> to the paginated archives.
In fact, rel=”next” and rel=”prev” does not solve the problem of duplicate title.
if it is working, why the google webmaster tool still show the huge duplicate title
Reactivate the all in one seo plugin, the canonical work fine.
As it’s explained in the post, the canonical URL of subpages should point to the subpage itself (i.e. domain.com/page/2/) not to the first page in the series (domain.com/). The rel=”next” and rel=”prev” tags allow search engines to distinguish the subpages as a series and should be enough to avoid duplicate content.
That being said, if Google says you have duplicate titles, we’d recommend you check out this KB article: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-fix-duplicate-meta-tags/#subpages
